Job summary

Total Extended Care Services is seeking a Supervising Physiatrist (MD/DO) to provide clinical oversight and leadership for our PM&R team delivering rehabilitation services in sub-acute and post-acute settings.

In this role you will mentor Advanced Practice Providers, ensure quality standards, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes while maintaining direct clinical involvement as needed.

Qualifications

• MD or DO required.
• Active Ohio medical license.
• Ability to supervise Advanced Practice Providers in accordance with state regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the supervising physician for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants providing PM&R services.
• Provide clinical guidance, mentorship, and support to APPs regarding patient care and treatment planning.
• Review, audit, and monitor clinical documentation to ensure compliance with company standards, payer requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Conduct chart reviews and quality assurance activities to promote accurate and timely documentation.
• Collaborate with therapy departments to support comprehensive rehabilitation programs and patient-centered care plans.
• Communicate with primary care providers, specialists, facility leadership, and rehabilitation teams to coordinate care and improve outcomes.
• Participate in case reviews and clinical discussions as needed.
• Maintain oversight of PM&R services and support quality improvement initiatives across assigned facilities.
• Perform physician evaluations and consultations as appropriate.
