Job summary

AlphaGov's client, a well-established mechanical contractor, seeks a Project Manager to lead commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will own schedules, budgets, and subcontractor performance, ensuring safe, on-time, on-budget delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience in commercial HVAC or construction.
• Direct ownership of projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Experience budgeting, change orders, RFIs, and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects from estimating handoff and preconstruction through installation, commissioning, and final closeout
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost forecasts, and labor plans to meet contractual milestones and profitability targets
• Direct field teams, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain productivity, installation quality, and jobsite safety
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, submittals, and equipment selections to identify scope gaps and resolve constructability issues
• Manage RFIs, change orders, procurement schedules, and documentation to prevent delays and control project costs
• Monitor job costing, labor hours, material expenditures, and subcontractor costs to identify and address budget variances
• Serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors, owners, engineers, inspectors, and internal field personnel
• Track permitting, inspections, equipment deliveries, startup, testing, and commissioning to support timely project completion
• Lead project closeout activities, including punch lists, turnover documentation, warranty coordination, and client handoff
