Job summary

City of Atlantic City, NJ seeks an experienced supervisor to oversee plumbing subcode enforcement under the State Uniform Construction Code. The role directs inspection staff, reviews plans, and ensures compliance with plumbing and energy subcodes for new construction and renovations.

The incumbent will manage permit issuance, stop-work orders, and enforcement actions, coordinating with architects, engineers, and contractors to uphold public health standards and code compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising plumbing inspectors and staff.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing and energy subcodes and code enforcement.
• Ability to review plans for conformity with codes and regulations.
• Proven ability to develop inspection work programs and methods.
• Familiarity with health, safety, and sanitary codes as applied to plumbing.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and approves plans of proposed structures for conformity with plumbing subcodes.
• Has charge of plumbing inspection staff and activities.
