Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus four years of plumbing apprenticeship or four years of plumbing related experience.
  • NCCER certification in trade or NCCER Knowledge Verification and Plumbing Performance Verification within 4 months.
  • Pass trade-specific Critical Task Assessment within 4 months.
  • Complete NCCER Core within 6 months.
  • Backflow preventer certification for repair within 6 months.
  • Backflow preventer certification for testing within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains supply and discharge piping systems and replaces diaphragms.
  • Lead and mentor three or more technicians.
  • Coordinate materials and supplies for larger projects.
  • Coordinate paperwork and processes for scheduled outages.
  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on plumbing fixtures and lines.
  • Install and maintain plumbing systems for laboratories and classrooms including safety showers and deionized water systems.
  • Provide support to other trades and contractors.
