Job summary

New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM, is seeking a Plumber Lead to supervise journey-level plumbers and trades helpers, and to lead repair, maintenance, inspection, and installation of campus plumbing systems.

The role requires a high school diploma with experience or an associate’s degree, plus NM Journeyman Plumbing and Gas Fitter licenses and a valid driver’s license. Standard M-F, 8-5 schedule; AFSCME bargaining unit.

Qualifications

• High School diploma + 4 years of relevant experience or an Associate’s Degree.
• NM Journeyman Plumbing License.
• NM Journeyman Gas Fitter License.
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Leads the work of Journey-level Plumbers and Trades Helpers in repair, maintenance, inspection and installation.
• Assigns and inspects the work of Plumbers and Trades Helpers; initiates corrective action for timely completion.
• Plans work schedules, equipment usage schedules and maintenance procedures.
• Determines material and labor estimates; participates in maintenance and installation duties.

Education

NM Journeyman Gas Fitter License
