Job summary

ITHAKA is seeking a Lead Software Engineer, Platform Engineering (Full-Stack) to advance how software is built, delivered, and experienced across the product engineering organization. This role sits on the Technology Enabling Services team and combines full-stack product engineering with DevOps and platform enablement, with strong emphasis on developer experience and operational excellence.

You will design, build, and operate internal platforms, tools, and services that empower engineering teams

Qualifications

• 8+ years as a full-stack software engineer delivering large-scale, distributed web applications.
• Ability to act as a strategic product thinker and community builder.
• Design and develop scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Frontend work with React or Vue and accessibility best practices.
• CI/CD concepts and automation tooling experience (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Experience with internal developer platforms and enablement tooling.
• AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and related deployment experience.
• Terraform and infrastructure-as-code expertise.
• Event-driven architectures and messaging systems experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization across the stack.
• Collaborative in Agile, cross-functional, and distributed teams.
• Clear communication of technical concepts to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain internal platforms, services, and tooling for CI/CD and automation.
• Drive product lifecycle and deployment strategies for the development platform.
• Improve developer velocity, reliability, and operational efficiency through paved paths.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices across teams.
• Collaborate to develop platform roadmaps and translate goals into initiatives.
• Own reliability, security, and evolution of code in production.
