Job summary

Fractal, Melbourne, Australia, is seeking a proactive Lead Platform Engineer to develop, deploy, and maintain cloud-native DevOps tooling and infrastructure. You will drive secure platform design, IaC practices, and scalable CI/CD across enterprise systems.

The role requires 10–12+ years of experience, strong GCP expertise, and a passion for automation, observability, and security. You will lead a skilled team, collaborate with technologists, and influence architecture choices.

Qualifications

• 10–12+ years of overall experience with 6–8 years in DevOps/Data DevOps.
• Extensive experience in cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong containerization/orchestration expertise.
• Advanced programming skills in Python, Java, JavaScript, or Go.
• Expertise in observability, monitoring, and security tooling.
• Experience designing enterprise DevOps practices and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure at scale.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Fast learner with ability to adapt to new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead GCP platform setup for enterprise-scale data migrations.
• Design secure cloud landing zones and infrastructure blueprints.
• Implement and enforce IaC best practices using Terraform.
• Define and implement enterprise-wide DevOps practices and frameworks.
• Develop security controls and monitoring systems for cloud infra.
• Lead the development of CI/CD pipelines and disaster recovery solutions.
• Mentor and guide DevOps team members in best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align platform capabilities with business needs.
