Job summary

The Brazos River Authority seeks a Plant Maintenance Technician - Lead in Hutto, TX to supervise a team of technicians and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance of water and wastewater facilities. You will diagnose equipment failures, repair pumps, motors, and plumbing, and ensure plant operations run smoothly.

You will also mentor staff, manage workloads, and contribute to safety and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum six years' experience or equivalent combination
• Valid Texas Class C Driver's License required with good driving record
• Must obtain Class C Water and/or C Wastewater Certification within six months of hire

Responsibilities

• Lead capacity to oversee less experienced technicians while performing maintenance
• Maintain and repair pumps, motors, blowers, and plumbing
• Monitor plant functions and diagnose malfunctions on equipment
• Perform general and preventative building and grounds maintenance
• Assist with training and mentoring staff and input on budget expenditures
• Order supplies and fabricate equipment

Skills

Experience (6+ years)

Valid Texas Driver's License

Hazmat training within 6 months

Welding/Fabrication knowledge
