Job summary

Hawaiʻi Gas is seeking an Instrumentation and Electrical Supervisor I, SNG, to lead the I&E team in maintaining plant instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems at the Synthetic Natural Gas Plant and other facilities in Hawaii.

The role requires coordinating with contractors, enforcing safety and permitting procedures, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The supervisor will manage CMMS data, train staff, and respond to emergencies 24/7.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years in-field instrumentation/control/electrical experience.
• At least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Experience with process facilities and regulatory compliance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of plant instrumentation and electrical systems.
• Coordinate maintenance work with outside contractors as needed.
• Enforce shutdown/turnaround plans, procedures, permits, and safety policies.
• Follow specs and drawings to install automated instrumentation for operations.
• Develop cost estimates and ensure parts availability with Purchasing.
• Maintain CMMS data and analyze maintenance history to troubleshoot issues.
• Train staff on testing and troubleshooting equipment and control hardware.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local codes (OSHA, EPA, API, NFPA).
