Job summary

ENERCON Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled 3D Designer (Piping) to support the Nuclear Services Group and Reactor Developer Division on complex projects.

You will lead piping design efforts, create high-precision 3D models, and produce GA and piping drawings while ensuring data integrity within SPF and compliance with ASME codes. The role requires leadership to supervise designers, mentor staff, and coordinate with engineers across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree with 6+ years of experience, OR High school diploma with 10+ years of experience, OR Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of design experience
• Experience in nuclear, oil & gas, petrochemical, or power generation industries
• Advanced proficiency with SPF, SP3D/Plant 3D/Octave Forte 3D or similar, AutoCAD
• A passion for creative piping and equipment layouts and facility design
• Strong knowledge of ANSI/ASME codes and standards
• Understanding of engineering discipline practices and ability to coordinate design work across other disciplines
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to learn new design tools and adapt to evolving project needs
• Understand construction practices and field installation methodologies
• Experience in EPC or Consulting Engineering environments
• Experience in Leadership and mentoring a team
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Occasional travel to client sites
• Ability to sit for extended periods and perform computer-based work
• Conduct field visits (walking, climbing, balancing, etc.)
• Lift up to 25 lbs as needed
• Must be a U.S. Citizen

Responsibilities

• 3D Modeling & Technical Drawing: Develop high-precision 3D models and drawings for facility layouts, system modifications, and new equipment development; prepare piping isometrics, GA drawings, 2D/3D models; use SPF for data management
• Leadership & Project Oversight: Serve as technical lead for piping design; supervise design work across projects; mentor junior staff; provide man-hour estimates
• Coordination & Collaboration: Work with engineers and cross-functional teams; lead 3D model reviews and constructability assessments; coordinate vendor data integration
• Standards & Continuous Improvement: Develop department standards and templates; improve workflows and standards; ensure data governance
• Project Execution: Meet schedule objectives; provide on-site field support; develop piping construction scope; support installation planning and constructability reviews
