Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking a Pipelayer to install and maintain pipe systems for water mains and sewer mains in Jacksonville, FL.

The role covers pipe layout, preparation, assembly, installation, testing, and related construction activities following project specs and safety procedures. Qualified candidates should have a minimum of three years in construction, ability to read plans, and strong safety awareness.

Qualifications

Minimum of three (3) years of related construction experience.
Ability to read, interpret, and follow construction plans, project specifications, and instructions.
Proficiency in using hand tools and equipment required for pipe installation.
Commitment to following established safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a construction crew to complete tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

Organize required tools and materials and ensure equipment is in good working condition.
Select appropriate pipe, fittings, gaskets, bolts, and related materials according to project specifications.
Install and join pipes and fittings of various sizes and materials.
Prepare for and perform required pipe and manhole testing.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
