Job summary

Turner Mining Group seeks a Team Lead Pipe Layer to oversee underground utilities in Hagerstown, MD. This direct placement role requires leading a crew, reading civil plans, and coordinating pipe installation with pipe lasers, GPS rovers, and related equipment.

You will ensure safety, quality, and on-time completion of water, storm, and sanitary line work, while mentoring field personnel and maintaining daily production logs on site.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in underground utility pipe laying
• 2+ years leading crews or acting as a working foreman
• OSHA 10 certification required (OSHA 30 preferred)
• Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and coordinate a crew of pipe layers and labor personnel to meet production goals safely and efficiently
• Interpret civil site plans to establish accurate lines and grades using pipe lasers, GPS rovers, and line transfer units
• Oversee deep underground utility installations (storm, sanitary, water main) and conduct field tests (air, mandrel, or pressure tests)
• Support backfill and material handling by operating small wheel loaders and end-dump haul trucks as needed
• Maintain OSHA trench safety protocols, perform daily site safety inspections, and complete daily production logs
