Job summary

HelloFresh in the United States, Berlin, or related Studio locations is seeking a Lead Photographer to guide our Studio Photography team across food, product, lifestyle, and marketing productions. You will set high standards for quality, drive scalable workflows, and mentor photographers to elevate our visual output.

You will collaborate with Producers, Styling, Culinary, Post-production, and Creative teams, while staying current with industry developments and supporting AI-driven content

Qualifications

• Seasoned photography professional with 7+ years of experience in commercial photography, including food, product, lifestyle, and high-volume e-commerce content production.
• Portfolio of recent and relevant work is mandatory.
• Deep expertise in lighting, composition, camera systems, color, production environments, and visual storytelling.
• Experience operating in fast-paced production environments and collaborating across disciplines and stakeholders.
• Able to elevate others through coaching, feedback, mentorship, and sharing best practices.
• Experience leading photographers or creative production teams is a plus.
• Highly influential, collaborative, and able to align stakeholders without relying on hierarchy.
• Strong production mindset, continuously improving workflows, quality, and efficiency.
• Stays current with developments in photography, visual production, and AI-supported content creation.
• Expert knowledge of Capture One and strong understanding of color grading and image editing; experience with AI or automation tools is a plus.
• Able to interpret and translate briefs into practical photographic approaches balancing creative intent and production realities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Support complex productions and solve creative, technical, and production challenges on set.
• Drive consistency across large asset volumes while maintaining visual excellence and efficiency.
• Actively contribute to Studio and company AI initiatives by developing practical use cases and integrating AI-supported workflows.
• Act as a trusted expert and escalation point for photographic quality, technical decision-making, and production excellence.

The role

As a Lead Photographer in the HelloFresh Studio, you are part of our Photography team, working across food, product, lifestyle, and marketing productions. You are first and foremost an exceptional photographer with deep technical and visual expertise, setting the benchmark for photographic quality, craft, and production excellence across the Studio.

You lead through expertise, influence, and example, helping elevate the capabilities of the photography team while maintaining high standards across large-scale asset production. You play a key role in developing photographic talent, evolving ways of working, and driving continuous improvement.

You collaborate closely with Producers, Styling, Culinary, Post-production, and Creative teams to deliver high-quality and scalable visual production across multiple brands. You stay up to date with industry developments and actively support AI direction, experimentation, and content generation initiatives within the Studio and broader organization, helping translate new technologies into practical production workflows.

What you’ll do

What you’ll bring

• You are a seasoned photography professional with 7+ years of experience in commercial photography, ideally including food, lifestyle, product, and high-volume e-commerce content production
• You demonstrate exceptional photography craft and technical excellence. Providing a portfolio is mandatory
• You have deep expertise in lighting, composition, camera systems, color, production environments, and visual storytelling
• You have experience operating in fast-paced production environments and collaborating across multiple disciplines and stakeholders
• You naturally elevate others through coaching, feedback, mentorship, and sharing best practices
• Experience leading photographers or creative production teams is a plus
• You are highly influential, collaborative, and comfortable aligning stakeholders without relying on hierarchy
• You have a strong production mindset and continuously look for opportunities to improve workflows, quality, and efficiency
• You stay current with developments in photography, visual production, and AI-supported content creation, and understand how to apply new technologies in a practical production environment
• You have expert knowledge of Capture One and strong understanding of color grading and image editing. Experience with additional photography, automation, or AI-supported production tools is a plus
• You can interpret and deconstruct creative briefs and translate them into practical photographic approaches, balancing creative intent, production realities, and visual quality
• You have strong verbal and written communication skills in English
