Description

Phlebotomist lead position supports the daily functioning of the clinic and ensures adherence to established policies. Serves in a coaching and mentoring role to staff while functioning as a working member of the department coordinating the daily workflow and scheduling of the office. This is an appointed role and may be moved among caregivers at manager or designee discretion. Under the direction of clinic leadership, the Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist (MA-P) obtains blood samples by skin puncture, and venipuncture. The phlebotomist is responsible for obtaining, preparing and processing specimens such as blood, urine, sputum, stool and various cultures by logging, spinning, and distributing to laboratory testing areas. Performs all duties in a manner which promotes team concept and reflects the mission and values of Providence Health & Services.

Required Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training Completion of a phlebotomy program administered by an accredited postsecondary school or college or a phlebotomy training program.
  • Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification
  • Experience in the job for which they will be the lead and be able to explain all duties and responsibilities of the staff they will be overseeing.
  • 6 months Lab experience.
