Job summary

Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System is seeking a Phlebotomist 2 to properly identify patients, draw and label blood samples, and send them to the laboratory for analysis. The role includes maintaining records, performing waived or moderate complex tests when needed, and assisting in supervising and training junior staff.

The candidate should have at least one year of phlebotomy experience, a high school diploma, and the potential to obtain Louisiana Medical Lab Assistant licensure

Qualifications

• One year in phlebotomy with demonstrated proficiency in all age groups.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Louisiana License as Medical Lab Assistant within 6 months if performing waived or moderate complex testing duties

Responsibilities

• Identifies patients, collects samples and labels specimens according to established protocol to ensure sample quality.
• Coordinates, plans, and utilizes time efficiently to prioritize and organize duties in the laboratory.
• May supervise and train lower-level Phlebotomists and provide guidance as needed.
• Performs waived or moderate complex testing as needed in the laboratory.
