Job summary

Casa Colina in Pomona, CA is seeking a skilled phlebotomist to join our patient-centered team. You will draw blood by venipuncture and skin puncture, prepare specimens, and support pre- and post-analytical workflow while ensuring accuracy and compassionate care.

You will interact with patients, coworkers, and physicians, participate in QA tasks, and help maintain lab operations outside the core lab. Required CA phlebotomy certification, CPR certification, HS diploma, and 3–5 years in acute care.

Qualifications

• Current phlebotomy certification from the State of California.
• High school graduate.
• 3-5 years of robust experience in an acute care setting.
• Must maintain current AHA sponsored CPR certification.

Job description

Acts as a resource person for other phlebotomists. Performs special assignments and projects involved in maintaining and improving lab operations and departments outside the lab. Performs blood collection by venipuncture and skin puncture. Assists in pre-analytical phase of testing—accessioning, processing, distributing specimens to workstation. Assists in post-analytical phase of testing—report distribution—hand carried, faxed, LIS generated to printer. Interacts well with all patients, co-workers and physicians. Is involved with QA/productivity tasks with or without the Lab Information System.

Requirements include: current phlebotomy certification from the State of California, High school graduation and 3-5 years of robust experience in an acute care setting. Must maintain current AHA sponsored CPR certification

Pay: $24.00-$26.00/hr
