Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA‑EMS) is seeking a Radar Systems Engineer specializing in Phased Array & Beamforming Architecture. You will lead architecture, design, and system‑level analysis for advanced radar apertures and DBF, coordinating across antenna/RF front‑end, digital receiver/exciter, and processing hardware.

You will report to the Senior Manager of Architecture and Systems Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in engineering or related field and progressive experience in radar engineering and systems.
• Experience in digital beamforming architectures for phased array/AESA radar systems and beamforming performance modeling.
• Experience with MATLAB; Python or C/C++ is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and system‑level design for phased array and DBF in advanced radar systems.
• Collaborate with hardware, RF, and DREX teams to align DBF with front‑end architectures.
• Develop models and simulations to evaluate SNR, beam patterns, and calibration needs.
• Contribute to lab/testing plans (HWIL, field tests) and design reviews.
