Job summary

PharMerica in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Lead Pharmacy Technician to supervise onboarding of new LTC facilities and coordinate data transfer into PharMerica's systems.

You will lead onboarding technicians, manage schedules, and ensure accurate medication data entry and compliance with regulations, supporting a smooth go-live.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in an LTC pharmacy setting required.
  • Prior supervisory experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in orientation, training, and evaluation of Pharmacy Technicians.
  • Monitors workflow and reassigns technicians as needed.
  • Prepares technician schedules to meet pharmacy needs.
  • Fills prescriptions and packages meds for dispensing and delivery with accuracy.
  • Assists with non-sterile compounding as needed.
  • Ensures adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.

In this role, you'll lead and support the onboarding of new client facilities, ensuring a smooth and accurate transition into PharMerica's pharmacy systems.

Our Lead Pharmacy Technician will support our onboarding Pharmacy Technicians in implementing new business by coordinating, building, and validating facility data within PharMerica's LTC400/Frameworks system. This role acts as a liaison between pharmacy operations, client facilities, and internal teams to ensure a seamless go-live experience.

Schedule: Friday - Monday 9:00am - 6:30pm

Responsibilities
  • Participates in orientation, training, competency assessment, and evaluation of Pharmacy Technicians.
  • Monitors work flow and reassigns Pharmacy Technicians as needed.
  • Prepares Pharmacy Technician schedules to meet the needs of the pharmacy.
  • Fills prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy, packaging medications for dispensing and for delivery, meeting the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy.
  • Prepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding.
  • May perform the following:o Works in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Roomo Works with automated machines to prepack drugs. o Manages inventory functions such as monitoring pharmaceutical levels and identify expired medications, managing to the pharmacy standard for Days on Hand. o Inputs patient data and medication orders into a computer system to produce labels (data entry). o Mixes/packages IV medications, sanitizes IV room, equipment and hood.o Services facility-based medication dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow).
  • Communicates with internal and external customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Ensure technician adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

  • Skills/Knowledge• Required: Basic understanding of drugs, medication terminology, and metric system; ability to operate a computer. • Desired: Workflow management skills; scheduling skills; performance management
