Job summary

HCA Florida Blake Hospital in Bradenton, FL is seeking an ambitious Lead Pharmacy Technician to oversee Pharmacy Technicians and assist the Clinical Pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications. You will perform quality control and auditing to ensure medications are available, and you will work with the Coordinator Pharmacy Inventory to maintain supplies for daily operations.

This role emphasizes patient care and safety, with a 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED and completion of Pharmacy Technician Program.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as Pharmacy Technician with leadership experience preferred.
• Current FL Registered Pharmacy Tech; CphT preferred.
• Overall Pharmacy knowledge including medical terminology and prescriptions drug names; strong customer service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense prescribed medications under supervision of the Clinical Pharmacist.
• Perform quality control/auditing to ensure medications are available to caregivers.
• Assist Pharmacy Inventory Coordinator to ensure necessary supplies and stock for daily operations.
• Contribute to hospital-wide improvements in patient safety and service excellence goals.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are currently looking for an ambitious Lead Pharmacy Technician to help us reach our goals. As our Lead Pharmacy Tech, you will provide your expertise and be responsible for the oversight to Pharmacy Technicians. You will also perform technical duties related to preparing and dispensing drugs in accordance with the standard procedures. We prioritize patient care. What you will do in the role:

• You will prepare and dispense prescribed medications, drugs and other pharmaceuticals under the supervision and direction of the Clinical Pharmacist in an accurate manner.

• You will perform quality control/auditing functions to ensure that medications are appropriately available to caregivers.

• You will assist Coordinator Pharmacy Inventory in ensuring that the department has the necessary supplies, equipment and stock needed for daily operations.

• You will actively contribute to and work towards the hospital wide improvement in meeting core measures, patient safety and service excellence goals.

What qualifications you will need:

• High school graduate or equivalent ( GED ) and completion of Pharmacy Technician Program.

• Minimum 1 year of experience as Pharmacy Technician with previous leadership experience strongly preferred

• Current FL Registered Pharmacy Tech; Pharmacy Tech Certification ( CphT ) preferred

• Overall Pharmacy knowledge including medical terminology and prescriptions drug names. Excellent customer service, interpersonal communication, organizational skills, pc skills, analytical abilities, and clerical skills.
