Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Pharmacy Supervisor to oversee oncology specialty pharmacy operations in Alabama. You will lead pharmacists, technicians, and coordinators to ensure compliant, high-quality patient care and efficient workflow.

The role requires a PharmD or Bachelor’s in Pharmacy with at least two years of experience and Alabama licensure eligibility. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to coordinating with providers and care teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is required.
• Two years of pharmacy experience required; work experience may NOT substitute for education.
• Current license or eligibility to be licensed as a Pharmacist by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and day-to-day oversight of oncology specialty pharmacy team members, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and patient care coordinators.
• Support the Pharmacy Manager in maintaining efficient and compliant specialty pharmacy operations.
• Monitor daily workflow, staffing, and workload distribution to ensure timely patient care and prescription processing.
• Assist with onboarding, training, coaching, and performance development of pharmacy staff.
• Participate in the collection, monitoring, and reporting of operational and clinical performance metrics.
• Collaborate with providers, nurses, and other healthcare team members to optimize patient care and patient engagement efforts.
• Ensure adherence to departmental policies, procedures, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as a resource for staff regarding specialty pharmacy processes, payer requirements, and patient care coordination.
• Assist with quality improvement initiatives, audits, and accreditation activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
