Eligible candidates will be offered a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 based on their years of experience!

Ensure the timely provision of cost-effective drug therapy contributing to optimal patient outcomes, provide experimental education for present and future health care practitioners, and support drug-related research.

Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as an active team member, making positive contributions to patient care outcomes and department goals.
  2. Demonstrate the required attendance and punctuality as scheduled.
  3. Implement Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee policies including, but not limited to, drug usage evaluation, formulary restrictions, adverse drug reaction reporting, and therapeutic and generic substitutions.
  4. Participate in the departmental quality improvement program to continually improve and evaluate pharmaceutical care as reflected by operational and patient care indicators.
  5. Maintain professional competency through participation in continuing education and staff development programs. Provide formal and informal in-service education activities.
  6. Assure adequate inventory of drugs and supplies necessary for proper patient care. Assist in procurement following established procedures.
  7. Audit and maintain accurate records for all controlled substances, ensuring storage and dispensing compliance with Federal, State, and Department Regulations.
  8. Support drug-related research by assisting in procurement, accountability, storage, preparation, and distribution of study drugs. Design and coordinate research as appropriate.
  9. Participate in the education and training of healthcare practitioners, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy residents, and students.
  10. Provide timely, comprehensive, and accurate drug information to physicians, nurses, patients, and other department personnel.
  11. Supervise daily activities and assist in training and education of pharmacy technicians and student interns.
  12. Ensure proper drug dispensation to the correct patient at the appropriate time, using proper preparation techniques.
  13. Use computer skills to process medication orders and maintain patient information.
  14. Evaluate each patient's medication order for appropriateness, considering patient-specific factors, and consult with prescribers as needed.
  15. Complete staff competencies and perform duties of staff pharmacist.
  16. Conduct meetings with pharmacy and healthcare team members to facilitate service improvements.
  17. Maintain collaborative relationships with clinical staff and handle patient care issues as they arise.
  18. Assist with quality improvement and cost-reduction initiatives based on department indicators.
  19. Work collaboratively to evaluate workflow and implement service ideas.
  20. Develop guidelines, policies, procedures, and tools to maximize productivity and standardize practices.
  21. Direct and schedule pharmacy personnel, authorizing overtime as needed.
  22. Coach and mentor staff through feedback and performance evaluations.
  23. Coordinate daily activities of pharmacy staff, demonstrating a service-oriented approach.
  24. Ensure timely and proper dispensation of drugs, verifying NDC numbers.
  25. Supervise activities and assist in training pharmacy technicians and interns, providing feedback when appropriate.
  26. Participate in education and training of healthcare practitioners.
  27. Maintain financial accountability by ensuring proper procedures in third-party rejects.
