Job summary

SpecialtyRx, Inc. in Roanoke, VA seeks a licensed Pharmacist to join our Long-Term Care pharmacy team. You will evaluate orders, supervise medication preparation, manage controlled drugs, and collaborate with nurses, physicians, and facility staff on therapy decisions.

Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacist with Virginia license.
• Experience with narcotics preferred.
• Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
• Ability to perform light lifting and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for drug appropriateness, dosage, interactions, and administration.
• Make therapy-change recommendations to physicians and facility staff.
• Maintain customers’ database including medical history and clinical data.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related queries.
• Communicate with nursing staff, physicians and healthcare team regarding queries.
• Supervise the preparation of medicines.
• Maintain register of controlled drugs for legal and stock control.
• Ensure proper security conditions for medications.
• Perform on-call duties when required.
