Job summary

BCG Attorney Search seeks a Personal Injury Attorney in Lafayette, LA to manage a full caseload from evaluation through settlement or trial. You will handle auto and trucking collisions, premises liability, and serious injury/wrongful death matters, advocating for clients.

Ideal candidates hold a Juris Doctor, Louisiana Bar in good standing, and strong written/verbal advocacy with independence to manage cases. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active Louisiana State Bar in good standing.
• Experience handling personal injury matters through resolution.
• Working knowledge of Louisiana civil procedure and insurance issues.
• Strong written and verbal advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage a full caseload independently.
• Preferred: Plaintiff-side experience, deposition/trial experience, medical lien familiarity, bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of Louisiana personal injury matters from evaluation through resolution.
• Draft and file petitions, motions, discovery, and pretrial submissions.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, treating physicians, and experts.
• Retain and work with experts on liability, causation, damages, and life care needs.
• Appear at hearings, mediations, and trial, and prepare cases as if they will be tried.
• Serve as lead counsel and primary legal contact for assigned clients.
• Evaluate liability, coverage, damages, and lien exposure to reach a defensible case value.
• Negotiate with adjusters and defense counsel and oversee settlement approval.
• Direct the case manager and paralegal assigned to your files.
