Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. is seeking a Lead Person to join our District Maintenance Crew in Cayce, SC. This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and strong daily leadership to meet production standards.

The Lead will guide performance evaluations, apply safety rules, and coordinate with supervisors on maintenance and mining plans while traveling to various locations. Ideal candidates have 3 years in building materials/mining and 10 years welding, fabrication, and electrical experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform responsibilities.
• Have three (3) years of experience in building materials, mining or aggregates industry.
• Have ten (10) years welding, fabrication, and electrical experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard office duties, plant duties, equipment repairs and operate mobile equipment.
• Establish and maintain effective communications within all areas of operation.
• Perform regular inspections for safety, housekeeping and mechanical issues.
• Implement safety rules, regulations and procedures as set by agencies and company guidelines.
• Coordinate with supervisors to ensure scheduled maintenance on equipment.
• Complete annual performance evaluations on team members and participate on plant safety committee.
• Assist with developing mining plans, forecasts and budgets.
• Prepare daily production, safety and maintenance reports.
• Maintain housekeeping and product quality as per standards.
• Aid in training of co-workers as needed.

Job description

Martin Marietta is seeking a Lead Person to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be responsible for communicating standards of excellence in the daily work assignments of assigned team in order to meet safe production as outlined by Management. The Lead person will communicate standards through stated goals, daily interactions, team meetings, providing input on employee performance evaluations, and recommending disciplinary actions. This position will be assigned to the District Maintenance Crew. This position also requires travel from the quarry to other locations. Hours are 6:00 am - 4:00 pm including weekends and overtime as necessary.

A typical day for a(n) Lead Person may include:

• Performing standard office duties, plant duties, equipment repairs and operates mobile equipment
• Establishing and maintains effective communications within all areas of operation
• Performing regular inspections for safety, housekeeping and mechanical issues in all areas of the operation
• Implementing and applying all safety rules, regulations and procedures of mine and property as set forth by federal, state, and local agencies and policies, as well as company guidelines and safety standards
• Working closely with the Sr. Team Coordinator and Production Supervisor to insure implementation of scheduled maintenance on all equipment
• Completing annual performance evaluations on team members
• Participating on plant safety committee
• Working with the Plant Manager, Production Supervisor, and Sr. Team Coordinator in developing mining plans, profit plans, AFE'S, and monthly forecast
• Completing daily production, safety and maintenance reports accurately
• Maintaining plant housekeeping and appearance standards and product quality as established by federal, state, and local agencies and policies, as well as company guidelines and safety standards
• Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor

You may be a good fit if you:

• Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position
• Have three (3) years of experience in in the building materials, mining or aggregates industry
• Have ten (10) years welding, fabrication, and electrical experience.
