Job summary

USPI Spicewood Surgery Center is seeking a motivated Charge Nurse (RN) to lead our perioperative nursing team in a fast-paced surgical setting. This full‑time role supports PreOp, OR, and PACU operations, coordinating patient flow and providing hands-on care as needed.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of clinical nursing experience, Texas RN licensure, and BLS/ACLS certification or willingness to obtain. GI/endoscopy experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• RN license in Texas required.
• BLS and ACLS certification required or willingness to obtain on hire.
• 1–3 years of clinical nursing experience preferred, perioperative focus.
• Experience in Pre-Op, PACU, or ambulatory surgery preferred.
• GI/endoscopy experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and support nursing staff in PreOp, OR, and PACU areas to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
• Oversee daily clinical operations, including staffing, patient assignments, and workflow coordination.
• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and monitor vital signs as required.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
• Educate patients and families on surgical procedures, anesthesia, and post-operative care.
• Support and monitor compliance with quality assurance, infection control, and patient safety initiatives.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff.
