Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a senior performance test engineer to design and implement comprehensive load, stress, and endurance tests across UI, API, and backend layers. You will build automation, leverage AI for test generation, and diagnose bottlenecks in Linux, networking gear, and AWS environments.

The role emphasizes automation, DevOps integration, and improving customer-facing system performance with cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree plus 8+ years or master's with 6+ years in software/quality engineering or test automation.
Proficient programming in Python or Java with UI/API automation using Selenium, Playwright, PyTest or REST Assured.
Experience with networking basics (BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, L2/L3) and cloud platforms.
Hands-on Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and distributed systems experience.
Technical leadership, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Design, script, and execute load, stress, endurance, and benchmarking tests across UI, API, and backend layers.
Develop and maintain test plans and automation documentation for reproducibility.
Leverage AI tools to speed test-case generation and optimize performance scripts.
Diagnose bottlenecks across Linux servers, networking hardware, and AWS infrastructure.
