Job summary

Kaav Inc. is seeking an experienced Performance Testing Lead to drive strategy, planning, execution, and analysis of performance testing across applications and platforms. You will partner with development, architecture, DevOps, and business teams to ensure scalable, reliable systems meeting performance objectives.

The role requires strong expertise in performance engineering, test automation, monitoring, capacity planning, and optimization, with hands-on leadership of testing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, Eng or related field.
• 7+ years in software performance testing/engineering/QA.
• 3+ years leading performance testing teams or large-scale initiatives.
• Hands-on with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
• Experience testing REST/SOAP APIs, web apps, microservices, distributed systems.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Performance Testing Lead to lead the strategy, planning, execution, and analysis of performance testing activities across our applications and technology platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with development, architecture, DevOps, infrastructure, product, and business teams to ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and capable of meeting performance and availability objectives.

The role requires strong technical expertise in performance engineering, test automation, monitoring, capacity planning, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and implement the overall performance testing and engineering strategy.
• Lead performance testing activities across web, mobile, API, microservices, cloud, and enterprise applications.
• Review business requirements and translate them into performance test objectives, workloads, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop performance test plans, workload models, test scenarios, scripts, and execution schedules.

Design and execute:

• Load testing
• Stress testing
• Volume testing
• Endurance/soak testing
• Scalability testing
• Spike testing
• Capacity and resilience testing
• Lead the selection, configuration, and effective use of performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner.
• Establish performance benchmarks, service-level objectives, and key performance indicators.
• Analyze test results, identify bottlenecks, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with development and architecture teams to troubleshoot issues related to application code, databases, APIs, networks, infrastructure, and cloud platforms.
• Perform root-cause analysis using application performance monitoring and observability tools.
• Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous performance testing practices.
• Develop reusable performance testing frameworks, utilities, and automation components.
• Coordinate test environments, test data, infrastructure, and monitoring requirements.
• Prepare detailed performance test reports, executive summaries, defect reports, and trend analyses.
• Track performance defects through to resolution and validate corrective actions.
• Mentor performance testers and promote performance engineering best practices across delivery teams.
• Support capacity planning, release readiness assessments, production performance reviews, and performance risk management.
• Ensure performance testing activities comply with organizational quality, security, and governance standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in software performance testing, performance engineering, or quality assurance.
• 3+ years of experience leading performance testing teams or large-scale performance testing initiatives.
• Strong hands-on experience with performance testing tools, such as:
• Apache JMeter
• Experience testing REST and SOAP APIs, web applications, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of performance testing methodologies, workload modelling, test planning, execution, and reporting.
