Job summary

Tinsley Performance LLC in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Performance Coach to develop athletes from youth to pro levels across multiple sports. Reporting to the Director of Performance, you will manage a core group, drive long-term development, and lead sessions with energy and precision.

You will use testing tech and collaborate with specialists to refine programs, communicate clearly with players and families, and mentor junior staff as opportunities arise.

Qualifications

• Collegiate playing experience expected.
• Three to five or more years of strength and conditioning experience preferred.
• Experience coaching multi-sport athletes.
• Proven success coaching high-level athletes; collegiate or professional experience a plus.
• Strong understanding of biomechanics, force production, speed development, and long-term athletic development.
• Excellent communication, teaching, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• A genuine commitment to continued professional and personal growth.

Responsibilities

• Coach and manage a core group of assigned athletes.
• Take ownership of each athlete’s long-term development.
• Develop and refine strength, speed, and injury-risk-reduction programming.
• Lead training sessions with energy, clarity, and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with pitching, hitting, rehabilitation, and performance specialists.
• Use testing, technology, and coaching judgment to guide decisions.
• Resolve athlete-specific performance challenges.
• Communicate clearly with athletes, parents, coaches, and staff.
• Mentor coaches and interns as opportunities develop.
