We are seeking an experienced Lead PeopleSoft Developer to design, develop, implement, and support PeopleSoft applications across the organization. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for PeopleSoft development initiatives, translate business requirements into scalable solutions, mentor development teams, and ensure the reliability, performance, and security of the PeopleSoft environment.
This role will work closely with business stakeholders, functional consultants, project managers, infrastructure teams, and third-party vendors to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with organizational goals.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Minneapolis, MN is $120k - $130k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, customization, integration, testing, deployment, and support of PeopleSoft applications.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective PeopleSoft solutions.
- Provide technical leadership for PeopleSoft implementations, upgrades, patches, enhancements, and production support.
- Review application architecture and recommend improvements to performance, scalability, maintainability, and security.
- Lead integrations between PeopleSoft and internal or third-party systems using REST, SOAP, Integration Broker, APIs, middleware, and file-based interfaces.
- Establish and enforce development standards, coding practices, documentation requirements, and change-control procedures.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to PeopleSoft and organizational development standards.
- Troubleshoot complex application, integration, batch-processing, and performance issues.
- Coordinate with functional teams to validate configurations and ensure that technical solutions meet business requirements.
- Create technical designs, interface specifications, deployment plans, test plans, and support documentation.
- Support system testing, integration testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, and production releases.
- Monitor and optimize batch processes, online transactions, application performance, and database activity.
- Mentor and provide guidance to PeopleSoft developers and junior technical staff.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, database, security, and application support teams.
- Participate in disaster recovery, environment management, audit, compliance, and security initiatives.
- Support vendor management and evaluate new PeopleSoft technologies and capabilities.
- Participate in on-call or after-hours support as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in PeopleSoft development, technical design, and application support.
- Experience serving as a technical lead or senior developer on PeopleSoft projects.
- Strong hands-on experience with PeopleTools and PeopleSoft development technologies.
- Proficiency in PeopleCode, Application Engine, Component Interface, Integration Broker, SQR, and SQL.
- Experience designing and supporting integrations using REST, SOAP, web services, APIs, and file-based interfaces.
- Strong understanding of relational databases, preferably Oracle.
- Experience with PeopleSoft application upgrades, image updates, patches, and customization retrofits.
- Ability to analyze complex problems and provide effective technical solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred, but not required:
- PeopleTools certification or relevant PeopleSoft training.
- Experience with PeopleSoft Fluid User Interface and Activity Guides.
- Experience with PeopleSoft Test Framework.
- Experience with Oracle databases, PL/SQL, and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools, version control, automated deployment, and DevOps practices.
