Job summary

Cyber Defense Technologies is seeking an SME Penetration Tester to support a government customer onsite in Chantilly, VA. The role emphasizes advanced testing techniques and guidance across security domains, with OSCP certification highly recommended.

The ideal candidate holds an active Top Secret/SCI with CI poly, brings hands-on red teaming experience, and can lead complex assessments while mentoring junior testers and shaping security practices for the program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and 7 year of Pen tester experience.
• Master’s degree and 6 year of relevant work experience.
• Experience in cyber security with a focus on red teaming, penetration testing, or threat hunting.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic reconnaissance and vulnerability scanning per testing methodologies.
• Identify common vulnerabilities, document and report findings.
• Use scripting to support testing workflows and understand network fundamentals.
• Conduct more complex penetration tests, vulnerability analysis, misconfigurations, and exploitation techniques.
• Lead penetration tests, mentor junior testers, and provide technical guidance.
• Apply expertise in network protocols, application security, social engineering, and advanced scripting.
• Design and lead complex penetration tests with customized tools and methodologies.
• Provide expert guidance on security best practices.
• Identify complex vulnerabilities and lead remediation efforts.
• Collaborate with management to develop security policies and stay updated on threats.
• Possess knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and industry standards.
