Job summary

UVA Health in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Charge Nurse for Pediatric Infusion and Specialty Clinics. You will balance frontline patient care with operational leadership, guiding staff, coordinating infusion therapies, and ensuring safety and high-quality care for children and families.

This role emphasizes clinical expertise, mentorship, evidence-based practice, and collaboration with physicians, APPs, pharmacists, and nursing teams to sustain a growing ambulatory program.

Qualifications

• Licensed registered nurse in Virginia with BLS from AHA.
• BSN degree or current enrollment in BSN/MSN program to be completed within 5 years.
• Experience as an RN clinician with Charge Nurse background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinic operations, including patient flow, staffing coordination, and real time problem solving
• Deliver hands-on care such as infusion administration, monitoring for reactions, and symptom management
• Support pediatric patients with complex conditions, including cancer treatment and specialty therapies
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff, reinforcing best practices
• Promote evidence based practice, safety, and clear communication
• Address operational and clinical challenges in real time to ensure continuity and patient experience
