Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is seeking a pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist to lead the Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology team in Richmond. The role encompasses clinical practice, scholarship, and education of fellows, residents, and medical students.

The successful candidate will oversee anesthesia for congenital heart disease patients and collaborate with the Children’s Hospital leadership within the VC3 consortium with UVA, aiming for high-quality, safe patient care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• ABA Board eligible/certified in Anesthesiology.
• Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia.
• Eligible for employment in the United States.
• Good communication, clinical and teaching skills.
• Formal training in Pediatric Cardiac anesthesiology or substantial experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate anesthesia care for congenital heart disease patients across OR, cath lab, EP lab, and non-invasive testing.
• Lead day-to-day Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology operations and engage in Quality and Safety Initiatives.
