Job summary

Precision Recruiting Solutions Group® (PRSG®) is seeking a seasoned Payroll Specialist to join our hybrid team in Pittsburgh. You will manage multi-state payroll processing, validate timekeeping data, and ensure timely tax remittance and benefits deductions for a diverse client base.

You will maintain confidential records, generate payroll reports, and support audits, year-end processing, and W-2 filing. Strong analytical skills and discretion are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of payroll processing experience, including multi-state payroll tax administration.
• Experience with large outsourced HRIS / automated payroll systems.
• Knowledge of multi-state payroll tax regulations and compliance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and detail orientation.
• High discretion and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with HR and process multi-state payrolls accurately and on time.

Job description

Workplace Type: Hybrid Schedule Includes 3 Days On-Site and 2 Days Remote

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with HR and process multi-state payrolls accurately and on time, including validation of timekeeping data and payroll changes (new hires, terminations, promotions
• Ensure accurate calculation and remittance of multi-state payroll taxes, deductions, and benefits
• Maintain complete, confidential payroll records and ensure data accuracy and integrity
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports and data feeds to internal stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws, wage-and-hour requirements, and firm policies
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, including multi-state tax issues, and respond to employee payroll inquiries
• Partner with internal teams to resolve payroll and tax reporting issues and ensure accurate data exchange
• Support internal and external audits, year-end processing, and W-2 preparation
• Assist with payroll system administration, testing, and process improvements
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of payroll processing experience, including hands-on multi-state payroll tax administration; professional services experience preferred
• Proficiency with large outsourced HRIS / automated payroll systems; and working through communications with provider for system changes, modifications and support to open tickets
• Strong working knowledge of multi-state payroll tax regulations, filings, reconciliations, and compliance requirements
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve complex payroll tax issues
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet regulatory and firm deadlines with strong attention to detail
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
