Job summary

Temple-Health is seeking a Lead Preregistration Specialist to oversee preregistration and precertification in the Patient Access department. You will mentor staff, coordinate training, and ensure smooth daily operations for oncology and other services.

Responsibilities include verifying insurance coverage, obtaining authorizations, resolving complex eligibility issues, and escalating as needed to maintain timely patient registrations and high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required or combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
• 5 years experience with complex pre-registration, insurance verification and/or precertification processes for oncological or specialized medical services.

Responsibilities

• Lead preregistration/precertification staff to meet department goals.
• Support the Manager with resources and staff training.
• Assist with staff training/orientation and ongoing staff development.
• Solve complex insurance coverage and authorization issues.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of assignments and tasks.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits.
• Obtain necessary insurance authorizations for hospital and physician services.
• Handle escalations from physicians, employees, office staff, patients or family.
