Job summary

Capital Medical Group is seeking a Lead Pathologist Assistant to join our clinical practice affiliated with George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, DC. This position offers the opportunity to provide anatomic pathology services under supervision of the Pathology staff.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years post-training experience and will work within a high-volume academic medical center. We offer state-of-the-art pathology systems and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Master of Science degree from a NAACLS-accredited Pathologist Assistant training program.
• Graduated from an ACGME-accredited Anatomic Pathology residency training program.
• Current and valid certification as a Pathologist Assistant by the ASCP.

Responsibilities

• Perform gross dissection, description, and submission of tissue specimens for histologic processing and surgical pathology examination.
• Provide a detailed and accurate description of tissue specimens using an electronic and voice recognition dictation system.
• Perform gross dissection, description, and preparation of tissue specimens for intraoperative consultation/frozen section examination, including cryostat section preparation and slide staining.
• Prepare tissue specimens for special laboratory studies, including flow cytometric and molecular analyses.
• Perform dissection and examination during autopsy.
• Prepare for autopsy and arrange radiographic examinations.
