Job description

Highland Park Community Church (HPCC) is a Brethren in Christ Church seeking a lead pastor called by God and committed to preaching God’s Word thru the Bible. HPCC seeks to be the kind of church described in scripture – a church with relevant teaching, heart‑felt worship, and compassion for those in need; a people of constant prayer and genuine love for Jesus and each other. We believe in the importance of involvement in growth. We are committed to providing opportunities for each person to grow spiritually. Bible studies, fellowship groups, and worship are all provided to help you grow closer to Jesus!

HPCC was founded in 1974 in Dublin, Virginia, a rural community in Pulaski County, located in the heart of New River Valley, 45 miles south of Roanoke, Virginia off Interstate 81. The church is 9 miles from Radford University and 20 miles from Virginia Tech. Dublin has a population of approximately 2,600 residents; Pulaski County has approximately 34,000 residents. The area is full of hardworking, caring people who hold strongly to their conservative values, all of which make it a great place to live and raise a family.

Role Description

HPCC is seeking a person of integrity who will seek God’s vision for a congregation wishing to grow its family base. The church has a current weekly attendance of approximately 45 at the Sunday morning service. The largest portion of the church body is elderly, and we are looking for a pastor who can shepherd in younger families and youth.

One who preaches the truth of the Gospel as it relates to our current daily lives and can relate to people of all ages, backgrounds and economic status. We value our BIC heritage and traditions, but not above our love for God and faith in Jesus Christ.

We are seeking a pastor who is humble and energetic, with proven management skills. Our congregation is generous and passionate about outreach in the local community. We value relationships and connections. It’s important that our lead pastor can relate to a wide range of personalities and is willing to take time to develop Godly relationships within our church family and our local community and to guide our team as they minister to both. Above all, Highland Park Community Church is more than a church, we are a family.
