Job Description
The Parts Counterperson is responsible for picking up and delivering parts, executing assigned tasks set by the department manager, and administering internal procedures and reports.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control, and shipping/receiving staff before leaving for pick-ups or deliveries.
- Consult with the body shop for immediate parts needs.
- Deliver parts to the body shop and technicians.
- Verify invoice matches purchase order for each pick-up.
- Check payments received against invoices for each delivery.
- Maintain an accurate log of deliveries and pick-ups, collecting signatures on each entry.
- Unload deliveries, handle paperwork, and return undelivered parts.
- Perform basic maintenance on delivery trucks (fueling, oil checks, organization).
- Report major repairs or maintenance needs to the parts manager.
- Assist the service department with customer car drop-offs and pick-ups.
- Help stock and post orders upon arrival to expedite delivery to technicians and wholesale accounts.
- Follow all safety policies and report accidents immediately.
- Require 1+ years of experience as a Parts Counterperson.
- Possess customer service and phone communication skills.
- Have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Be authorized to work in the USA and able to pass pre-employment testing, including background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and possess a valid driver’s license.
