Job summary

Louisville Metro Government is seeking a supervisor to lead grounds and facilities maintenance crews, managing group and event setup and ensuring workplace safety. The role operates with limited supervision and reports major activities in periodic meetings.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Parks & Recreation, Landscaping, Horticulture or related discipline and at least one year of supervisory experience in park or facilities management, landscaping, horticulture, or grounds

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Parks & Recreation, Landscaping, Horticulture or related field.
  • At least 1 year of park/facilities management and supervisory experience.
  • Equivalency allowed with supervisory requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff; handles employee concerns and performance appraisals.
  • Coordinates, assigns, reviews work, and sets schedules; monitors progress and provides guidance.
  • Enforces safety procedures for equipment operation and employee safety.
  • Transports workers, equipment, and materials to work sites.
  • Provides technical instruction on equipment and materials use.
  • Plans and adjusts projects and procedures to meet deadlines.
  • Receives and completes group and event set-up work orders.
