Job summary

Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission is recruiting for a Park Ranger 3 in the Central Lakes Area, based at Alta Lake State Park. This full-time role directs operations, guides enforcement activities, and leads staff and volunteers across Alta Lake, Bridgeport, Lake Chelan and Twenty-Five Mile Creek areas.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a fully commissioned Washington State Park Ranger.
• Two years of professional experience as a Park Ranger, commissioned Law Enforcement Officer, or equivalent in Natural Resource field; education substitution allowed.
• Must have completed a qualifying law enforcement academy (BLEA, POST, PLEA or SLETP).

Responsibilities

• Lead Operations Manager for the Central Lakes Area; develop area strategies and oversight of day-to-day operations.
• Serve as lead Law Enforcement Ranger; schedule coverage and maintain regulations knowledge.
• Supervise staff and volunteers; ensure training, PDPs, and performance expectations are met.
• Provide leadership and professional development to area staff and partners.
