Job description

JOB PURPOSE:

Paint walls, equipment, buildings, and other structural surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray guns. May remove old paint to prepare surfaces prior to painting.

- Guaranteed 40 hours

- 4-10 hour days, 3-day weekends

- Work indoors majority of the time

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Apply paint to building and other structures using a brush, roller, or spray gun.
  2. Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect during painting.
  3. Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers.
  4. Remove fixtures such as doorknobs and switch covers prior to painting.
  5. Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, and wire brushing.
  6. Sand surfaces using sandpaper, scrapers, brushes, and steel wool.
  7. Erect scaffolding or set up ladders to work above ground level.
  8. Assist in surveys and reports as needed.
  9. Participate in continuing education to stay current in the field and maintain licenses/certifications.
  10. Attend and engage in mandatory in-services.
  11. Respect patients'/residents' rights, including fair treatment, privacy, and property rights.
  12. Comply with corporate compliance and safety regulations, including occupational hazards, fire prevention, infection control, etc.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of experience.
  • Some overnight travel may be required.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements of fingers, hand, and wrist.
  • Ability to keep hand and arm steady while moving or holding in position.
  • Proper use of tools and equipment.
  • Meet quality standards of PruittHealth.
  • Follow safety standards and demonstrate good workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and establish effective relationships with team members and the public.
