Job summary

MACRO Industries, Inc. in Huntsville, AL seeks a Lead Paint Technician to operate painting equipment, apply coatings, and maintain paint booths and related equipment.

The role requires coordinating with production teams to ensure on-time delivery and quality across epoxy, polyurethane CARC coatings and other finishes. Ideal candidates bring prior paint technician experience, aerospace or military painting background, and familiarity with composites.

Qualifications

• Prior paint technician experience required.
• Military, automotive or aerospace painting experience a plus.
• Experience with composite materials and manufacturing a plus.

Responsibilities

• Selects/applies coating based on drawing requirements.
• Mixes coatings according to paint or manufacturer specifications.
• Adjusts spray painting equipment to achieve correct pressures, mixture, and spray for texture and finish.
• Sprays wash primer, primers, topcoats of epoxy and polyurethane CARC coatings and other coatings.
• Cleans and maintains equipment, performs preventive maintenance, and housekeeping tasks.
• Maintains respirator care and uses air supply when spraying epoxy paints.
• Communicates with Production Associates, Leads and Supervisors to ensure on-time, quality products.
• Completes work orders/travelers and ensures paint products are within use date.
• Manages inventory levels and informs Supply Chain of needs.
• Reports issues to supervisor or lead and maintains lot traceability.
• Light assembly required to complete most parts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

MACRO Industries, a leading aerospace and defense composites company, is seeking a Lead Paint Technician for their Huntsville, AL location. The successful candidate will operate painting equipment, paint product, and maintain paint booths and associated equipment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Selects/applies coating based on drawing requirements.
• Mixes coatings according to paint or manufacturer specifications.
• Assembles and adjusts spray painting equipment to give proper pressures, mixture, and spray, ensuring that the application is of proper texture, thickness and surface finish.
• Sprays wash primer, primer, topcoats of various paints, mostly epoxy and polyurethane CARC, as well as other coatings including polyurethane LINE-X coating.
• Cleans and maintains all equipment (including preventive maintenance), changes filters, and performs required housekeeping tasks.
• Maintains proper respirator care and operation and use the breathing air supply system when spraying epoxy paints.
• Communicates with Production Associates, Leads and Supervisors to ensure products are completed on time while maintaining quality.
• Completes necessary workorders/travelers.
• Ensures paint products are in manufacturing use date prior to use.
• Manages inventory levels and inform Supply Chain of any changes or needs.
• Reports any issues in operation to your supervisor or lead.
• Maintains lot traceability on all components.
• Light assembly required to complete most parts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior paint technician experience required.
• Military, automotive or aerospace painting experience a plus.
• Experience with composite materials and manufacturing a plus.
