Job summary

General Motors in Roanoke, IN is seeking a Paint Process Engineer to design, test tooling and plan manufacturing processes in the paint area of the plant. This onsite role may supervise hourly staff and coordinate with shifts to ensure smooth operations.

You will analyze data, implement new processes, and maintain process documentation while promoting safety, quality and efficiency across paint operations. The role requires collaboration with manufacturing and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Paint Manufacturing operations or maintenance.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring employees.
  • Ability to work overtime and on all shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that paint processes are maintained and running effectively for vehicle production.
  • Problem-solve by analyzing data, determining root causes, and implementing plans.
  • Support implementation of new processes and equipment.
  • Communicate across shifts and departments to sustain performance.
  • Maintain process documentation and supervise assigned personnel.
  • Build relationships with employees, management, and suppliers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operations, reduce costs and energy use.
