Job summary

Lifecore Biomedical is seeking a motivated Lead Packaging Technician (2nd shift) to oversee daily packaging operations on the production floor in Chaska, MN. You will lead a team, ensure cGMP compliance, and coordinate workflow to meet production schedules.

The role requires 2+ years in regulated packaging, GMP documentation experience, and hands-on equipment troubleshooting. The position offers a four-day work week, competitive pay, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical device, pharmaceutical or similarly regulated industry
  • Minimum of 2 years of general packaging process experience
  • Experience with GMP documentation practices
  • Experience using ERP systems for production transactions, inventory management, and material requests
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to follow detailed written procedures and work instructions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to train and mentor packaging personnel
  • Previous experience serving as a team lead, trainer, process owner, or informal leader a strong plus

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact on the production floor for packaging process questions and technical guidance
  • Coordinate daily workflow activities to support production schedules and department priorities
  • Assist with onboarding and training Packaging Technicians using established training methods and procedures
  • Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and perform changeovers on packaging equipment including cartoning, assembler, and sealing lines
  • Review batch records and production documentation for accuracy and compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Identify, investigate, and escalate quality, equipment, or process issues as appropriate
  • Support nonconformance investigations, documentation, and corrective action activities
  • Complete production transactions, material returns, and inventory-related activities using ERP system
  • Assist with the creation and revision of work instructions, procedures, and manufacturing documentation
  • Communicate production status, shift updates, and operational concerns with cross-functional teams
  • Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and GMP requirements while supporting continuous improvement initiatives

Lifecore Biomedical is seeking a motivated, hands-on production leader to join our Packaging team as a Lead Packaging Technician. In this role, you will serve as the front-line production lead, supporting daily packaging operations while ensuring compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), safety requirements, and quality standards.

As a Lead Packaging Technician, you will:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact on the production floor for packaging process questions and technical guidance
  • Coordinate daily workflow activities to support production schedules and department priorities
  • Assist with onboarding and training Packaging Technicians using established training methods and procedures

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 3:15 PM - 1:45 AM

Starting rate: $31.00-$35.00/hour + $1.25/hour shift premium with consideration for relevant skills and experience
