About The Job

Your job as a Lead Packaging Technician will have responsibility to lead other operators/equipment owners on your shift team. You will have responsibility and autonomy for ensuring the team delivers the +QDCI results necessary to achieve the business needs. You and your team will accomplish this through rigorous application of the site’s HSE, Quality, AM and SMS standards, strong collaboration, and excellent communication. You will be a key part of our continuous journey to grow and to build the benchmark manufacturing culture. You will be a “working” leader with continued expectation to operator equipment on the line or in the area.

You will have responsibility for a team of 5-10 operators whom you will work directly with to establish action plans, deliver business results, develop skill qualifications, and help build a culture of empowered and engaged operators. Depending on shift/day, you may be the highest level of leadership within the plant/area and will need to be comfortable making informed decisions that are within your boundaries and escalating when outside of your boundaries.

Main Responsibilities

  • Role model servant leadership, empowerment, engagement, ownership, commitment, safety, and quality
  • Support execution of personnel systems to grow capability of team (skill matrices, IDP’s, performance discussions, compliance training, etc.)
  • Flow to the work as needed in order meet business needs
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, interact with other organizations, operating teams, and department leadership
  • Lead Level 1 +QDCI
  • Lead team in execution of AM and SMS standards (CIL, Centerlines, PM’s, etc.)
  • Perform process confirmations against execution of standards
  • Lead team to deliver on all +QDCI results
  • Understand, follow, and ensure compliance with HSE and Quality standards
  • Drive breakthrough results in overall OEE performance

Professional Skills

  • Must be in good standing with a strong performance history
  • Must be qualified in multiple areas/equipment/processes
  • Must have demonstrated capability to communicate laterally and upward

About You

  • Education & Experience: You must have a High School Diploma or GED

  • Experience across multiple lines/areas/plants

  • Demonstrated ability to teach/develop
