Job summary

Oil-Dri Corporation of Georgia is seeking a Lead Packaging Operator for Building 1 on the 2nd shift. You will guide and troubleshoot across multiple packaging lines and report to the Packaging Supervisor.

You’ll operate automated packaging and palletizing equipment, set up and inspect, sample products, and maintain safety records. This role emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

• Must have good interpersonal skills to provide leadership to include good communication skills.
• Must understand all safety requirements to insure compliance with rules, regulations and precautions.
• Must be able to use technology to evaluate/communicate the status of the process/product.
• Must be able to understand all safety requirements and other communications.
• Must be able to visually differentiate between products and be able to hear warning alarms.
• Must be able to read and understand bill of lading.
• Must be able to efficiently interact with and use computer systems.
• Must be able to comprehend and follow quality management system.

Responsibilities

• Provides direction and troubleshooting across two or more packaging lines.
• Operates automated packaging and palletizing equipment, and performs setup and basic adjustments.
• Samples packaged product to verify specifications and records results.
• Inspects supplies and inventory levels; maintains cleanliness and safety.
• Interacts with CMS/AS400 and reports production and environmental data.
• Picks, loads and moves materials and finished goods as needed.
• Keeps work areas clean, adheres to safety rules, and participates in process improvements.
