Job summary

Getinge is seeking a Staff Packaging Engineer to serve as the SME for sterile and non-sterile medical device packaging. You will lead packaging strategy, design, validation, and commercialization across product platforms, while guiding materials, documentation, and regulatory alignment.

You will mentor engineers, influence packaging standards, and drive improvements in quality, cost, and manufacturability across global sites.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or related technical discipline.
Master's degree in Engineering, Packaging Engineering or related field preferred.
Minimum 8+ years of progressively responsible packaging engineering experience.
Experience leading packaging development from concept through commercialization.
CPP certification or equivalent preferred.
Experience with Class II/III medical devices and global manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for sterile and non-sterile packaging systems.
Lead packaging strategy, development, validation, and commercialization activities.
Establish technical direction for packaging materials and standards.
Drive quality, reliability, sustainability, and cost optimization initiatives.
Mentor packaging engineers and cross-functional teams.
Ensure ISO 11607, ISO 13485, FDA and EU MDR compliance.
