Job summary

Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is seeking a Staff Packaging Engineer to lead the development, validation, and documentation of packaging solutions for medical devices and formulations. This on-site role anchors in Chaska, MN and supports global projects with ISTA, ASTM, and DOT standards.

You will design, validate, and optimize packaging while coordinating with Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and suppliers to meet timelines and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering.
• 7+ years in packaging engineering within regulated industries (medical device/pharma).
• Strong design, validation, and regulatory testing capabilities including ISTA/ASTM/DOT standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and validate packaging solutions for new products and enhancements, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Develop and maintain packaging documentation, including engineering drawings using SolidWorks and CAD conversions.
• Serve as primary packaging lead on development projects, applying DFM/DFT and managing cross-functional collaboration.
• Execute testing and validation protocols, including UN4G and global distribution requirements, and provide guidance to stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce packaging waste and mentor staff.
