OnTrac in Albany, NY is seeking a Lead Package Handler to oversee offloading, loading, and sorting of packages. This role trains new hires, supports business metrics, and upholds company values while ensuring safe, efficient operations in a warehouse environment.

The position requires at least 1 year of industry experience and leadership aptitude, with compensation at $19/hour. Expect a full-time night shift from 12:30 AM to 8:30 AM at 35 Commerce Ave., Albany, NY.

This position plays a crucial role in overseeing the offloading, loading, and sorting of packages for distribution. Our Package Handler Leads are the ultimate team players. They work closely with Area and Operations Managers to train new hires, support business metrics, and uphold company values.

Location: 35 Commerce Ave., Albany NY

Compensation: $19/hour

Shift(s): Full-time, Sunday through Thursday from 12:30 AM to 8:30 AM (hours may change based on business needs)

What you need to bring:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• At least 1 year of industry experience.
• 1 year of leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to regularly lift, push, and pull 25 to 35 lbs, occasionally carry up to 50 lbs, and occasionally push or pull up to 150 lbs using a pallet jack or gaylords to transport large packages.
• You must be at least 18 years of age.

Your mission in motion:

• You will promote a safe work environment by enforcing company safety protocols, including dock, conveyor, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• You will train and guide package handlers, providing hands‑on demonstrations and ongoing performance feedback.
• You will oversee package handling, sorting, and inspection processes to ensure accuracy, prevent damage, and avoid misroutes.
• You will monitor equipment functionality, submit maintenance requests, and manage damaged freight according to company procedures.
• You will check in and check out third‑party drivers, verify credentials, and ensure proper documentation and manifest accuracy.

Your primary responsibilities:

Physical and work environment requirements:

Your working environment will primarily be in a warehouse setting, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and moving equipment. You will engage in frequent physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting, and handling packages throughout your shift. You must have sufficient visual and auditory ability to safely navigate the warehouse, identify hazards, and communicate effectively in a noisy environment.
