Job summary

Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL, invites applications for the Outpatient Hematology Lead Advanced Practice Provider role. This position leads nine outpatient Hematology APP direct reports and collaborates with six hematologists in an integrated cancer care setting.

The APP will dedicate 90% of time to patient care and 10% to administration, working four 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday, reporting to the Cancer Service Line APP Manager.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of Advanced Practice Provider experience in Hematology or cancer-related specialty.
  • Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or eligible to obtain licensure through IDFPR.
  • Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing Practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position.
  • Current certification by ANCC or AANP.
  • CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Outpatient, 90% clinical and 10% administrative duties.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Monday-Friday
  • Four, 10-hour shifts/week

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates must have a minimum of three years of Advanced Practice Provider experience in Hematology or other cancer-related specialty.

Position Requirements:
Nurse Practitioner:
  • Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process
  • Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position
  • Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP)
  • CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications
Physician Assistant:
  • Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process
  • Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program
  • Current certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
  • CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. The individual who holds this position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines of Rush, including the Rush Medical Group Customer Service standards. Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards.

Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, specialty; relevant experience and training; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full‑time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. Additional compensation may include premium pay rates, sign‑on bonuses, and relocation allowances. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.

Pay Range: $151,000 - $202,000
