Job summary

Orthodontic Experts is seeking a Lead Orthodontic Assistant to join our team. You will support the orthodontist in chair-side procedures, prepare patients, take X-rays, manage records, and train new assistants.

You will travel to sister clinics as needed and contribute to ensuring smooth daily operations. Competitive hourly pay ranges from $23 to $26, with full-time benefits and a structured workweek.

Qualifications

• Orthodontic assisting experience (1 year required).
• Availability on Saturdays.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certificate of Orthodontic Assistant Courses (preferred).
• Spanish speaking preferred.
• Ability to learn quickly and efficiently.
• Can multitask.
• Be professional, organized, and have strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for orthodontic treatments, including cleaning, X-Rays, and impressions.
• Examine mouths and note irregularities.
• Assist the orthodontist during procedures and adjust braces.
• Manage and update patient records and charts.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care.
• Sterilize instruments before and after use and follow infection control protocols.
• Complete Invisalign procedures: attachments, adjustments, and scans.
• Assist with bonding and debonding processes and ensure daily clinic readiness.
• Travel to sister clinics and perform administrative duties as needed.

Job Description:

As a Lead Orthodontic Assistant, you will be an integral part of creating beautiful smiles for our patients. You will be part of a dynamic team of orthodontic professionals who are passionate about providing excellent care. You will be responsible for providing support to our Orthodontist and assisting in the chair-side procedures. Your duties will include preparing patients for their treatment, sterilizing instruments, taking digital radiographs, and assisting with laboratory procedures.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Prepare patients for orthodontic treatments, such as cleaning teeth, taking X-Rays, and making impressions.
• Examine patient's mouths and take notes of irregularities.
• Assist the orthodontist during procedures, such as adjusting braces and placing orthodontic appliances.
• Manage patient records and update charts.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and orthodontic care.
• Sterilize instruments before and after use.
• Follow safety and infection control protocols.
• Complete Invisalign procedures: attachments and adjustments, and scans
• Complete Full Arch Bonding top and bottom, as well as bonding fixed retainers
• Debonding
• Rebonding Brackets
• Ensure that all appliances have been received for the clinic day.
• Ensure the OSHA weekly, monthly, and quarterly tasks are completed on administrative days.
• Using Various digital Scanners
• Making clear retainers
• Help train new orthodontic assistants.
• Participate in Marketing events Added
• Delivering expanders, space maintainers and forsus.
• Assisting with evaluating potential new orthodontic assistants, or assistants in training.
• Speak to patients and parents regarding poor oral health, non-compliance, broken brackets etc.
• In the event you are traveling to another clinic, you are required to perform all duties and responsibilities of your role including administrative tasks.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Orthodontic assisting (1 year required)

• Certificate of completion for Orthodontic Assistant Courses (preferred)
• Ability to learn quickly and efficiently

Working Hours/Travel/Pay:

• Monday – Wednesday 8:45am – 5:00pm
• Thursday - Friday 6:45am – 3:00pm
• 2 Saturdays per month
• Two 9:45 am to 6:00 pm shifts per month
• Travel availability to Arlington Heights and Waukegan
• Rate of pay - 23$ - 26$
